VISIT GIBRALTAR

Known as the "Key to the Mediterranean", Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory.

Overlooking one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, the ‘Rock of Gibraltar’ rises out of the sea on the eastern side of the Gulf of Algeciras, and is connected to the Spanish mainland by a narrow isthmus.

The city of Gibraltar itself lies on the western side of the rock. For such a small country – just four square kilometres – Gibraltar has more than enough tourist attractions and famous landmarks.

Europa Point is located at the southernmost point of Gibraltar’s peninsula.

Gibraltar is famous for its Barbary macaques, a species indigenous to Morocco and the only wild monkey in Europe.

The best place to see them is in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, on a part of the island called Upper Rock. Accessible via the Gibraltar cable car, it’s a breathtaking journey, although it only takes six minutes.
