Gaucin is known for its beautiful views from the “Balcony of Serrania”.
From this white town you can see the Sierra Crestellina, the Genal Valley and the Mediterranean Sea. Gaucin’s main monument is the Castillo del Aguila, which can be seen from almost every corner of the town. The Castillo del Aguila has been one of the strategic defensive points of the Spanish throne over the centuries, from Roman times to the French invasion or the Carlist Wars.
