Just a 70-minute drive from Sitio de Calahonda takes you to another country, Gibraltar, a real curiosity. This tiny city-state combines a Mediterranean Spanish seaside atmosphere with the British way of life, all in an area of 7 km². As well as its historical importance and strategic location, Gibraltar is a stunning sight to behold, with a huge cliff dominating the whole area.

The British pound is the official currency, but the Euro is also easy to pay in. On entering the city, you are immediately greeted by a British atmosphere: red double-decker buses, English signs, but still ‘continental’ transport. A ride up the Rock on the funicular is a must, where you can meet the famous Berber monkeys of Gibraltar. The Skywalk lookout, the lighthouse, and St Michael’s Cave are all waiting to be explored.

Gibraltar is a real speciality, a slice of England in the Mediterranean sunshine, guaranteed to be a memorable experience for all visitors. If you can, book tickets online to avoid the queues of tourists.
