Its inhabitants honour their village, which dates back 4000 years, by keeping their houses and surroundings in good order. Mijas Pueblo is one of the most visited of Andalucia’s white villages, a stroll around the narrow cobbled streets quickly reveals why.
Its winding streets, charming nooks and crannies, flower-decked houses and numerous tiny squares all contribute to Mijas’ popularity.
Visitors to Malaga should also visit Mijas. If you do not have a car, there is a direct bus service between Malaga and Mijas. True, it takes a bit longer than by car, but in return for the time wasted, bus passengers can visit the main streets of Torremolonos and Benalmadéna on the way.
